Q

Obturator Nerve
Root
Path
Muscle Supply

A

Root= L2-L4
- Arises anterior rami of L2-L4 of lumbar plexus–> enters lesser pelvis –> along lateral wall of pelvis to obturator canal
- Enters thigh and divides into anterior and posterior
- Supply medial thigh muscles
- No pelvic structures are supplied by obturator nerve
-Muscle supply= Adductor magnus adductor part supplied by obturator nerve posterior division, Obturator Externus, Adductor longus/ Adductor Brevis obturator anterior division, Gracilis

Q

Genital Femoral Nerve
Root
Path
Muscle Supply

A

Genital Root= L1
Femoral=L2
- Nerve pierces Psoas Major and runs inferiorly on anterior surface
- It then breaks off into 2 branches lateral to common & External iliac arteries
- Genital Branch supplies the genitals
- Femoral Branch goes to supply sensation to upper anterior thigh/groin area
