Insidious
What movement causes pain with the psoas abscess?
Provoked with forceful contraction of the psoas
What tests can be done for patellofemoral pain syndrome?
Patellar grind test:
- direct AP pressure on patella or quadraceps tendon while they flex quadracep
Opposite test
- lifting the patella away from the knee while bending/straightening, relives pain
How to test for plicae syndrome
Pressure on the band like structure on medial border of patella produces pain
How to test for popliteus tendon (posterior lateral knee pain)
Webb test:
- internally rotate the leg while supine
- flex the knee at 90 degrees
- Ask patient to force external rotation against resistance
Presentation/findings of synovial osteochondromatosis (hip or knee pain)?
Limited ROM
Joint may lock
