CORRESPONDENCE
As above, so below; as below, so above. The Macrocosm and the Microcosm are reflections of each other. Embodies the truth that there is always correspondence between the laws and phenomena of the various planes of Being and Life. This principle gives one the means of solving many a dark paradox, and hidden secret of Nature.
MENTALISM
The ALL is MIND. The Universe is Mental. Thoughts lead to the manifestation of things and events. Thoughts create our state of existence and the quality of our experience here on Earth.
VIBRATION
Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates. The principle explains that the differences between different manifestations of Matter, Energy, Mind, and even Spirit, result largely in from varying rates of vibration. The vibration of the spirit is at an infinite rate of intesity and rapidity. At the other end of the scale, there are gross forms of matter whose vibrations are so low as to seem at rest. Between these poles, there are millions upon millions of varying degrees of vibration.
POLARITY
Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair opposites.
Opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all paradoxes may be reconciled.
The principle operates on the Physical Plane (i.e. hot vs. cold, hard vs. soft) as well as the Mental Plane (i.e. love vs. hate, evil vs. good).
An understanding of this principle enables one to change their own polarity, as well as that of others.
RHYTHM
Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything. The measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compesates.
There is always an action and a reaction; an advance and a retreat; a rising and a sinking. This is in the affairs of the Universe, suns, worlds, men, animals, mind, energy, and matter. Masters of this principle can neutralize the rhythm swing of the pendulum which would tend to carry them to the other pole by the use of their Will (composed of poise and mental firmness).
CAUSE & EFFECT
Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause. Everything happens to Law; chance is but a name for Law not recognized. There are many planes for causation, but nothing escapes the Law. The higher planes of causation dominate the lower ones.
The Hermetics understand the art and methods of rising above the ordinary plane of Cause and Effect, to a certain degree, and by mentally rising to a higher plane they become Causers instead of Effects. The masters obey the Causation of the higher planes, but they help rule on their own plane.
GENDER
Everything has its masculine and feminine principles. Gender manifests on all planes. The direction of generation, regeneration, and creation is tied to this principle. No creation, physical, mental, or spiritual is possible without this principle. Every male thing has the female element also; every female also contains the male element within.
GENERATIVE PRINCIPLE
The dynamic of CARE. What we care about from day-to-day basis acts as the driving force of our thoughts and actions. Therefore, Care can be seen as the ultimate Generator of the quality of our experience. The word generative is derived from the Latin verb genere, which means “to create”.
