The Venomous Tentacula, a green, spiky, toothsome magical plant with mobile vines that try to grab living prey, can be subdued by cutting off all its vines with the Severing charm (Diffindo), dousing it in Herbicide potion, or burning it with the Fire-Making spell (Incendio). The Venomous Tentacula can be kept as a pet as well as a weapon and its juices are useful for making poisonous potions.
How can Spiky Bushes be destroyed?
Spiky Bushes, green bushes with large piercing yellow spikes growing out of them, can be destoryed with the Fire-Making spell (Incendio).
What potion is the Bouncing Bulb used in and how can it be withered?
The Bouncing Bulb, a large purple bulb with a bunch of leaves growing on the top, is used in the Pompion potion. Young ones can be stopped with the Knockback jinx (Flipendo), while adults must be withered with the Fire-Making Spell (Incendio).
What is a Puffapod?
A Puffapod is a magical plant that produces large pink seedpods full of shining beans, which instantly flower when they come into contact with any solid object. The spores can be used in potions.
What is Moly used for?
Moly, easily recognized by its black stem and white flowers, can be eaten to counteract enchantments and is used in the brewing of the Wiggenweld potion.
What potions are Asphodel used in?
Asphodel is a plant with a dark green stem, long and slender leaves, and white, pointed flowers. Its powdered root is used in the Wiggenweld potion as well as the Draught of Living Death.
What are nettles used for?
Nettles, a green plant whose leaves are covered in stinging hairs, are used as a foodstuff in soups, tea, and wine and are said to improve the glossiness of hair. Dried nettles are used in the Boil-Cure potion and the Hair Dying potion.
Describe the uses of dittany.
Dittany, which has purple flowers, is a healing and restorative herb. In addition to dittany’s essence being applied topically, the raw plant can be consumed to heal shallow to moderate wounds. If used in a mixture with silver, it can prevent the victim from bleeding to death from a werewolf bite. Shredded dittany is also an ingredient in the creation of the Wiggenweld Potion.
What are the uses of wormwood?
Wormwood, a bitter herb with yellow flowers, is used to repel fleas, as well as in the potions Draught of Living Death and Elixir to Induce Euphoria.
What potion is Mandrake Root used in and what are its effects?
Mandrake Root is used in the Mandrake Restorative Draught, a healing potion that restores cursed or transfigured individuals to their original state.
What is aconite also known as and what potions is it used in?
Aconite, also known as monkshood or wolfsbane, has purple flowers and dark green leaves. It is used in Wolfsbane potion and Wideye potion.
What is Devil’s Snare and how can one escape its clutches?
Devil’s Snare, a plant with tentacle-like appendages, can be used to guard valuable objects or as a weapon. You can free yourself from it by relaxing or using the Bluebell Flames spell (wave wand), Fire-Making spell (Incendio), Wand-Lighting charm (Lumos), or the incantation Lumos Solem.
