What were Bonds and Recognisances?
Legal bond to perform an action or forfeit money, a formal acknowledgement
What are the Acts of Attainder?
The law that Henry VII passed that declares someone of rebelling against the crown, it also allowed him to take land or money off prior without sending it through court
What was the Council Learned?
System to ensure the King raised money and enforced his prerogative rights
What was extraordinary revenue?
One time payments that Henry took from people for his war efforts and to help him further establish his dynasty.

How people’s wages compared to real world prices

When upper class people would rent out plots of land to peasants

People who would maintain law and order in the country, usually local gentry

Criticism against the church, beliefs that church was corrupt, questioned transubstantiation

Believed that education should be influenced by philosophy, arts and literature and science rather than just religion

Denial of validity of key doctrines of the Church

Opposition to the Church’s role in political and non-religious matters

Carried support from pretenders who had a somewhat legitimate claim to the throne, Henry had to send many soldiers to settle the rebellion,
