Fibrinogen concentrate (Riastap)
A
Dose: 2grams
Powder to be reconstituted in 50ml sterile water and filtered for administration! ( these supplies in omnicell under “fibrinogen supplies kit” or “Riastap”).
*The recommended technique is to add the 50 mL sterile water gently to the side of the vial and gently swirl the contents—keeping it in your hand or pocket to help warm it up while doing this may be helpful to warm the vial up and promote it dissolving.
Expect 5-10 min, and potentially up to 15 minutes for the fibrinogen concentrate to dissolve. This feels like a long time, but it still will likely be faster than waiting for cryo.
5ml/min or 2g/20 minutes although in emergency faster rate used.
