Hemic System Flashcards
The Hemic, or hematologic, system involves the blood.
Red cells, or erythrocytes contain hemoglobin that enables the cells to pick up and deliver oxygen to all parts of the body. White cells, or leukocytes, are the body’s primary def use against infection. Platelets, or thrombocytes, form clusters to plug small holes in blood vessels and assist in the clotting process.
