-antigen INDEPENDENT lymphopoiesis takes place in primary lymphoid tissue (T cells forming in the thymus and B cells in the bone marrow)
-the cells enter the blood
-they go into secondary lymphoid tissues (spleen and lymph nodes) where antigen DEPENDENT lymphopoiesis occurs
