• Elevated PT /PTT /Thrombin time
• Low platelets
Consumption of platelets in thrombi
• Low fibrinogen (consumption)
- Microangiopathic hemolytic anemia
• Low RBC (anemia)
• Schistocytes on blood smear

B thalassemia minor features

A

• Mildest form of disease
• Usuallv asvmptomatic with increased RBC count
• Microcytic, hypochromic RBCs and target cells on blood

Hemoglobin electrophoresis
• Slightly decreased HbA(2(alpha, beta))
• Increased HbA2 ( 2(alpha, gama))to 5% (normal 2.5%)
• Increased HbF to 2% (normal 1%)
