Ara-C aka Cytarabine (days 1-7)
Daunorubicin (days 1-3)

A

AML in remission
HiDAC = high dose cytarabine consolidation
Cytarabine 3000mg/m2 over 3 hrs q 12 hrs every other day for 6 doses

common side fx of HiDAC, what’s done about ‘em? (4)

A

Uveitis/Conjunctivitis - steroid eye drops administered during & 48 hrs after
N/v - zofran + dexamethasone
Cerebellar toxicity - neuro exam (finger to nose coordination test)
Rash, fever, flushing during infusion - slow down infusion, give hydrocortisone 100mg + Benedryl, premedicate future infusions

Etopaside - 80mg/m2 daily x 6 doses
Ara-C - 1 gram/m2/day x 6 doses

A

N/V: zofran & dexamethasone
Cardiac toxicity: Must know EF prior to initiating
Turns urine & secretions blue x 24 hrs
