Th1 main functions
- Inflammation
- Cell mediated immunity
- IFNy polarizes macrophages into M1, activates, and attracts them.
- T cell recognizes. Macrophage removes
Th2 main functions
- Polarized macrophages into M2 by IL-4 and IL-13.
- IL-4 and IL-5 attract eosinophils.
- Allergic and anti-helminth responses–> m2 response and stimulates switch to IgE
Th17 main functions
- IL-17 and IL-22 attract and activate many inflammatory cells
- M1 response
- Maintaining integrity of mucosal surface
Tfh main functions
- B cell help in germinal centers
- Help them become activated and direct B cells to undergo class-switching
Treg main functions
Suppresses Th1, Th2, Th17, Tfh by contact and soluble factors (TGF-beta, IL-10)
