- Assess for PERRLA oculomotor II and optic III
3 assess corneal (eyelid) light reflex bilaterally (shine light in middle of both eyes assessing for symmetrical gaze) - Test Extraocular Movements (EOMs)

A
- Inspect external ear (size and shape; skin) position and alignment , external auditory meatus
- Palpate for tenderness (auricle, tragus)
- Assess hearing (Vestiobulococohealar VIII hearing, balance sense of positioning)

- Otoscope Evaluation describe ear canal tympanic membrane

Nose
A
- Inspect and palpate the external nose
- Check the Patency of nostrils
- Smell CN I olfactory (describe)
- Assess internal Nostrils using a penlight nasal mucosa, turbinates , septum

Head and Face
A
- Inspect and palpate scalp hair(size contour, deformities)
- Palpate temporal artery
- Palpate then percuss maxillary frontal sinuses
- Palpate (TMJ) temporimandibular joint (open and close jaw) assessing trigeminal V(jaw strength, pain with clenching teeth) and facial VII (puff cheeks smiling frowning)
- Palpate thyroid gland

A
- Inspect (lips buccal mucosa(cheek) gum teeth)
- Assess and Inspect the tongue - midline (tongue strength hypogossal XII (stick out tongue)
- Assess and Inspect the Trachea
- Inspect the tonsils and pharynx
- Uvula IX glossopharyngeal say ah X Vagus gag reflex
- Phonation / Speech CN X

Neck
A
- Inspect for Symmetry, Lumps, Pulsations
- Jugular Vein Distention describe
- Palpate thyroid (nodules, mass, goiter)
- Describe how to ausultate for a bruit and why
- Locate and identify all Lymph Nodes
- Preauricular -Judulodigastric
- Posterior auricular - Superficial cervical
- Occipital - Deep cervical chain
- Submental - Posterior cervical
- Submandibular -Supraclavicular
- Palpate Carotid pulses
- Perform ROM of neck
- Assess neck strength
- test accessory XI (movement of trapezius & sternomastoid muscles shrugged shoulders and turn head side to side)!
