Law of Conservation of Energy
Energy cannot be created or destroyed just transformed (under normal conditions).
Heat
Thermal energy that flows due to difference in temperature. Heat always flows from Hot to Cold.
Heat transfer
A method by heat flows (conduction, convection, radiation).
Conduction
Heat transfer within or between solid objects.
Convection
Heat transfer into or out of fluids.
Radiation
Heat transfer due to packets f energy called photons that can travel through many substances, even empty space.
Insulator
A material through which energy (electrical, thermal or sound) cannot be easily transferred.
Conductor
A material through which energy (electrical, thermal or sound) can be easily transferred.
Temperature
The measure of the average speed of all particals.
Thermal Energy
A total energy of al particles in an object.
