The temperature of an object tells us how hot something is and heat is a form of energy measured in joules

It gains energy from its surroundings and warms up
How does a thermogram show how hot an object is?
By using different colours for different temperatures

White
Why will a hot drink cool down?
Because energy is transferred from its surroundings. Energy is transferred until the temperature of the drink is the same as its surroundings
