Mid diastolic murmur

Pansystolic murmur that radiates to the axilla
What are symptoms of mitral stenosis?
Dyspnoea
Haemoptysis
Fatigue
Oedema
What are signs of mitral stenosis?
Malar flush
Raised JVP
Left parasternal heave
Can lead to AF
What is the management of mitral stenosis?
Treat AF
Diuretics for oedema
Surgery if medical management fails

Rheumatic fever
What are the symptoms of mitral regurgitation?
Dyspnoea
Orthopnoea
Fatigue
Palpitations

Systolic thrill
Displaced apex beat

Treat AF and HF
Surgery if symptoms worsening

Narrow BP
