What is aldosterone and what does it do?
A
Aldosterone is a mineralocorticoid hormone from the adrenal cortex. It acts on the distal tubules and collecting ducts of the kidney to cause the conservation of sodium, secretion of potassium, increased water retention, and increased blood pressure.

What is ADH and what does it do?
A
It is a hormone made in the hypothalamus, released by the posterior pituitary, which increases water reabsorption and increases blood volume, by causing aquaporin insertion in kidney. Acts on different part of nephron from aldosterone.
