Heart ECG Flashcards
QRS complex
Ventricular depolarization
P wave
Atrial depolarization
T wave
Ventricular repolarization
P-Q interval
Time of conduction through AV node
Q-T interval
Ventricles contracting: ventricular systole
T-Q interval
Ventricles relaxing: ventricular diastole
R-R interval
Time between two successful QRS peaks = heart beat
HR = 60/R-R
Cardiac arrhythmias
Abnormal SA nodal firing
Tachycardia
More than 100 beats/min
Bradycardia
Less than 50 beats/min
1st degree heart block
AV node is slowed
Increase P-Q interval
2nd degree heart block
AV node does not always occur.
If it doesn’t occur, no QRS complex or T wave
3rd degree heart block
No conduction thru AV node
Can be deadly bc insufficient blood supply to the body
PAC
Premature atrial contraction
PVC
Premature ventricular contraction
