HEART ATTACK WARNING SIGNS
Some heart attacks are sudden and intense, but most of them start slowly, with mild pain or discomfort. Here are signs that can mean a heart attack is happening:
- chest discomfort. Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the middle of the chest that last more than a few minutes, or is it goes away and comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain.
- discomfort in other areas of the upper body. Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach.
- Shortness of breath. This feeling often comes along with chest discomfort. But it can also occur without chest discomfort.
- Other signs may include breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness. If you or someone you are with has one or more of these signs call 911 immediately get to the hospital right away.
Stroke:
Stroke is a medical emergency. Every second counts, because time loss is brain loss! Know the stroke warning signs and share them with others:
- Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body.
- Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding.
- Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes.
- Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination.
- Sudden, severe headache with no known cause.
If this happens check the time so you will know when the first symptoms appeared. It is important to take immediate action. If given within three hours of the start of symptoms, a clot busting drug can reduce long-term disability for the most common type of stroke.

You claim that exercising more will not increase how many calories I burn. How is that possible?
The number of calories you burn per day stays pretty consistent regardless of activity level. When you exercise more your body simply lowers the number of calories it burns performing other functions. So your metabolism remains constant.
If I am not burning calories, then how am I losing weight?
When people exercise, inflammation levels go down. That’s because your body is spending your energy budget on exercise and not on creating chronic inflammation. Think of inflammation as a luxury. It is what your body will do with extra calories if you have them. And it is inflammation that causes most of the diseases of aging including obesity.
Think of diet and exercise as two separate tools. Exercise is great for heart health, for preventive cognitive decline, for preserving physical fitness. But if you want to lose weight, the tool for that is diet.
