A
Small veins that drain capillary beds and merge into larger veins.

A
- Plasma = Carries water, electrolytes , nutrients, hormones and waste.
- Red blood Cells = contain hemoglobin
- white blood cells = part of immune system
- platelets = Essential for clotting

What regulates the Cardiovascular system?
A
- ANS: Sympathetic = increase heart rate , Parasympathetic = decreases heart rate via vagus nerve
- baroreceptors = sense changes in blood pressure
- chemoreceptors = monitor oxygen co2 and PH levels
- rhythm regulated by SA node
- hormonal regulation includes norepinephrine and anti diuretic hormone (ADH)
- Local regulation - Hypo/HyperTENSION

- left takes oxygenated blood to heart
- supplies blood to right side of heart
