Patient has tried ibuprofen with minimal relief, and this caused her gastrointestinal upset
“I had a shot in the knee a few months ago and it helped a little for a few weeks. The pain never was completely gone and then locking and catching never stopped either” HPI
Patient had a recent corticosteroid injection with temporary incomplete pain relief and no relief of mechanical symptoms.
“I’ve tried those gel shots too and they helped for a few months, but the pain eventually came back after those too.” HPI
The patient has tried viscosupplementation with a few months of reported pain relief.
“I tried wearing a boot, but then my other ankle starting hurting because I was walking funny.” HPI
The patient tried wearing a boot, but this caused her pain in the contralateral ankle due to compensating her gait.
