Prices (there is an increased cost of goods and services and increased amount of care being delivered) and waste (duplication of services, physicians have to deliver the standard of care)

- utilitarian (the greatest good for the greatest number)
- libertarian (protects the rights of property and liberty of each person, allowing citizens to improve their circumstances by their own efforts)
- communitarian (places the community, rather than the individual, the state, the nation, or any other entity, at the center of the value system)
- egalitarian (related to the concept of equality, where people who are similarly situated should be treated similarly; promotes the idea of equal distribution)
