what is open vs closed circulatory system?
Open circulatory system: It is primarily found in invertebrates. Here, the blood flows freely through cavities since there are no vessels to conduct the blood. Closed circulatory system: It is found in vertebrates and a few invertebrates, like earthworms. This system has vessels that conduct blood throughout the body.
what is the first line of defence in an immune response?
The innate immune system is the body’s first line of defense against intruders.
what is the second line of defence in an immune response?
Nonspecific innate response
importance of hormones in the body, what is negative feedback?
Most hormones are controlled by negative feedback, in which the hormone feeds back to decrease its own production.
how does your body regulate its tempature?
the hypothalamus regulates your body temperature, responding to internal and external stimuli and making adjustments to keep the body within one or two degrees of 98.6 degrees.
what is the role of hormones?
help to control many body functions, such as growth, repair and reproduction.
what is LH?
helps control the menstrual cycle
what is FSH?
triggers the growth of eggs in the ovaries and gets the eggs ready for ovulation.
