  • Notification of project (if necessary)
  • Making sure PC undertakes the Construction Phase Plan
  • Making sure PD undertakes H&S file
  • Making sure both PC and PD Perform
17
Q

What is a H&S file, what are 4 key elements, and who prepares it?

A

Provides relevant H&S information needed during future construction and maintenance work
- Project Description
- Hazards
- Structural information
- Operational maintenance

Prepared by PD

18
Q

What is a Construction Phase Plan, and who prepares it?

A

Details the construction phase H&S risks and the control measures that will be implemented

Prepard by PC

19
Q

When is a project notifiable?

A

HSE to be informed if a project lasts longer than 30 construction days with 20+ workers on site or more than 500 ‘person’ days

  • Display F10 in site offices
21
Q

A

UK National Authority for managing work related health, safety, and illness issues
* They act in the public interest to reduce work related injuries and incidents
* Their aim is to protect people’s H&S by ensuring that risks are properly managed
* Support businesses to adapt to remain compliant with occupational H&S legislation

22
Q

Can you give an example of a hazard that you identified on the RAMS for plot L, and control measure?

A

Risk of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO)
- UXO risk assessment report has categorised the risk level as medium/high, though the building is a pre-WW2 structure
- Therefore, a specialist on site explosive ordnance engineer (EOD) was to be present during the investigation

23
Q

What should you do if you find an injured person on site?

A

27
How long is an EWS1 form valid for
Valid for entire building for 5 years (not every building requires)
