Health related and skill related components Study Guide Flashcards
Agility
is the ability to change space and position.
Speed
is the ability to perform any movement in the shortest possible time (for example: running).
Coordination
is the ability to integrate the senses with the movement of the muscles to produce an accurate and smooth body movement.
Reaction Time
how fast an athlete is able to respond to a stimulus.
Muscular Endurance
how many times your muscle can repeat a specific exertion of force.
Muscular Strength
the amount of force you can put out or the amount of weight you can lift.
Cardio-Respiratory Endurance
is the level at which your heart, lungs, and muscles work together when you’re exercising for an extended period of time.
Body Composition
means the relative distribution of lean and fat tissues.
Power
is the ability to generate maximum force in the least amount of time.
Flexibility
is the ability of parts of the body bent without breaking or injury.
Balance
can be static or dynamic as in doing routines on a balance beam.
What are the five components of health-related components?
There are five components of physical fitness: (1) body composition, (2) flexibility, (3) muscular strength, (4) muscular endurance, and (5) cardiorespiratory endurance.
What are the six different skill-related components?
The six different skill-related components are agility, speed, power, balance, coordination, and reaction time.
