HSC Services
statutory, private, voluntary, mixed economy of care
Statutory service
these are services provided by and paid for by the gov, e.g. NHS
Private service
services that are run as a business to make a profit. It’s paid for out of pocket, privately, or by a long term care policy. e.g. birthing centres, care homes
Voluntary
these are services provided by non-profit making organisations that are quite often a registered charity, e.g. BHF, food banks
Mixed economy of care
the provision of care by a range of service providers, including the statutory agencies and the private and voluntary sectors.
