Chrysotile (white), Amosite (brown), and Crocidolite (blue) asbestos.

What are the characteristics of Chrysotile (white) asbestos?
It’s a serpentine (curly) fiber, softer but strong in tensile strength, commonly used in cement and textiles. Considered less dangerous as it’s less likely to become trapped in lungs.

What are the characteristics of Amosite (brown) asbestos?
It has needle-like fibers, better fire and heat resistance than blue and white. Mainly found in Asbestos Insulation Boards (AIB) used for fire and heat protection.

What are the characteristics of Crocidolite (blue) asbestos?
It has needle-like fibers, is corrosive and chemical resistant. Considered most dangerous due to sharp, needle-shaped fibers that can pierce and become trapped in lungs.
What are the three rare types of asbestos?
Tremolite, Anthophyllite, and Actinolite - these are all Amphiboles and were rarely used in products.
