It is known as the Reproductive Health Law or RH Law. It is a law which guarantees universal access to methods of contraception, fertility control, sex education, and maternal care
Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012/ RA 10354
Under the RH Law, the State shall defend the following:
- the right of the spouses to found a family in accordance with their religious convictions and the demands of responsible parenthood
- the right of children to assistance, including proper care and nutrition, and special protection from all forms of neglect, abuse, cruelty, exploitation, and other conditions prejudicial to their development
- the right of the family to a family living wage and income
- the right of families or family associations to participate in the planning and implementation of policies and programs
Poses major danger to the health of most people. It also pollutes the air you breathe and everything else in the environment
Smoking
A law that will protect the lives of everyone against hazardous smoke. It is an act regulating the packaging, use, sale, distribution, and advertisements of tobacco products and for other purposes
Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003/ RA 9211
Smoking shall be absolutely prohibited in:
- Centers of youth activity such as playschools, preparatory schools, elementary schools, high schools, colleges and universities, youth hostels, and recreational facilities for the public
- Elevators and stairways
- Locations in which fire hazards are present, including gas stations and storage areas for flammable liquids, gas explosives, or combustible materials
- Within the buildings and premises of: public and private hospitals, medical clinics, dental clinics, optical clinics, health centers, nursing homes, dispensaries, laboratories
- Public conveyances like jeeps, buses, taxis and tricycles
- Food preparation areas like kitchen
What does RA 9211 provide with regard to minors?
This law does not allow minor to sell, distribute, and purchase cigarette or any tobacco product. To protect school children or students, sale distribution of tobacco products is prohibited within one hundred meters from any point of the perimeter of a school, playground, or other facility frequented by minors
What are the warning written in the package of tobacco products?
“ GOVERNMENT WARNING. Cigarette Smoking Is Dangerous to Your Health.”
“ GOVERNMENT WARNING. Cigarettes Are Addictive.”
“ GOVERNMENT WARNING. Tobacco Smoke Can Harm Your Children.”

It is an act to effectively instill health consciousness through graphic health warnings on tobacco products. This law requires tobacco product packaging to display pictures of the ill effects of smoking, occupying the bottom half of the display area in both front and the back side of the packaging
