Where do we see secondary intention
A
We often see these through many surgeries when a dr has to open a patient up many times or sometimes motor vehicle accidents

What things are considered/make up secondary intention
A
-wounds from trauma, ulceration, and infection have large amounts of exudate and wide, irregular wound margins with excessive tissue lost
-edges cannot be approximated
-healing process is the same as primary, but inflammatory reaction may be greater, wound may need to be debrided before healing can take place

What are the wound characteristics for secondary intention healing
A
-irregular, large wound with blood clot
-granulation tissue fills in wound
-large scar
