Bursting pain, throbbing, hammer - eyes pop out, explode
RS Temple, occiput
Cyclical 10am-3pm
>cold apps, sweating, pressure, lying in dark room
Nat-mur
Throbbing, exploding maddening - pressing outward as if eyes will pop out
Comes and goes SUDDENLY. 3pm
Bounding pulse in head + throat, sharp pain with each throb
>Lying in dark quiet room, cold apps, hard pressure, binding of head
Belladonna
Throbbing, burning, congestive - flushed face and pulsing carotid
Periodic - begins in R shoulder/neck and radiates to right forehead or eye
> SLEEP, after vomiting, pressure against something hard
Sanguinaria
HA over R forehead or R side of head - extending from vertex to shoulder
< 4-8PM, overheating, morning/waking, if hunger not appeased at once
> cold, open air, eating
Lycopodium
L forehead, above L eye or directly in eye
Can point to pain/spot with 1 finger - localized
Stitching, violent pain with palpitations
> Heat, hot bath, elevated head, eyes closed
Spigelia
Chronic migraines, acute fever w/horrible HA
L eye - extends over occiput, the whole head, to back and shoulders sometimes
Dull, heavy pain - congestive, fullness, increases slowly
Pressure, lying on painful side, lying in dark, cool air, wash w/cold water
Bryonia
Congestive HA w/ pulsation, fullness, pressing outward
Begins in L and moves R - frontal, extends to root of nose
Bursting, brain/eyes pop out
pressure, cold air/apps, discharges
HA with hypertension
Lachesis
Associated w/ nausea, "sick HA" L forehead, above L eye Pain comes in waves or sudden shocks vomitting, eating, vigorous motion/exertion, open air, pressure, dark room Empty sensation in stomach
Sepia
Chronic HA from stress/worry
< Cold, damp, getting head wet, mental exertion, coition
> pressure or binding head
Calc-carb
Migraines, tension HA, Toxic Hangover HA
Forehead, occiput, extending from occiput to neck
Marked irritability with HA
Warmth, warm apps, evening in bed, lying on painless side
Constipation from HA
Nux Vomica
Migraines w/ burning, pulsing pains - HA every other day
Either side (more L), forehead, occiput
Marked hunger during HA
After sleeping, cold air/apps, eating
Phosphorus
Chronic daily HAs
Dull frontal HA that starts in occiput/extends to forehead or eye
HA above root of nose w/ chronic sinusitis
Marked hunger, clammy forehead
wrapping/covering of head, warm apps, pressure, after urination
Silica
HA at vertex - like a band, pressing, burning heat
Fullness, sinus HA, sense of weight on vertex
Marked hunger, clammy forehead
cold apps, uncovering head
Blurred vision, flush face/red eyes
