Severely painful cough felt in whole head and chest - must hold chest or whole head with each cough
DRY cough with each movement or deep breaths - fears to inspire
< Eating or swallowing, overheating, bending head

Bryonia
Irritating, tickling cough with scant difficult expectoration, often with hoarseness
Feeling of mucous in chest which makes him try to cough deeper
Cough vanishes during the day
< Drafts or cold air, overheating in bed at night, talking, bending head forward
> Cold drinks, rainy weather
Expectoration – sticky, greasy, unable to raise mucous no matter how hard he tries, has to swallow it
Causticum
Rattling, productive cough often with Sinusitis
Thick, sticky, stringy mucous expelled with difficulty
< night, esp. 1-3am, eating, morning on rising, cold cair, uncovering
> after expectoration, once warm in bed, sitting up
Kali Bichromicum
Dry tickling or productive cough
Stitching pains in chest with cough
Crawling tickling sensation on first lying down at night
< Night, especially 2-4am, morning, cold air/draft, lying, exertion, deep inspiration, warm food
> sitting upright, or even bent forward
Kali-carb
Cough from allergy or asthma - loose rattling, “juicy”
Children with nighttime cough, from post nasal drip, dry in evening, loose in morning
< Eve/night, becoming cold, warm room, warm drinks
> Open or Cool air, lying propped up, gentle walking, sitting, deep breath
Expectoration – Morning on rising, easy production of yellow or green mucous
Pulsatilla
Every cold goes to the chest
Dry, tickling, painful, burning in chest with cough
< Eve, twilight, cough awakes them from sleep
> turning to R side, warmth
During cough – HA, burning chest, trembling, exhaustion - must hold or squeeze chest during cough
Phosphorus
Main remedy for tickling, irritated coughs - incessant violent tickling with scant expectoration
Covers mouth going out into cold air
< 11pm, morning, cold or open air, pressing pit of throat even lightly causes cough reflect, bending head backwards
> turning onto the R side
Rumex
Barking, croupy or irritated cough often with constriction or tickling in larynx
Suffocative cough, cyanosis wth cough
burning in throat, larynx, chest with each cough
< before or at midnight, cold dry air, cold drinks
> eating, drinking (esp. warm) from constantly sucking on cough drops, sitting, bending head forward
Spongia
Suffocative or choking cough - so painful, must hold her stomach or chest to cough
irritated airways with tickling/dryness
< night, esp. 12-2am, drinking or eating, talking, as soon as head hits pillow
> sitting up, walking slowly
Expectoration – purulent, bitter, or blood expectoration
Drosera
Noisy, rattling loose cough, as if chest is filled with mucous - but too weak to expel it
< night, esp. 10 pm to midnight, anger, eating, yawning, lying flat
> sitting, after expectoration
Antimonium Tart
Intense coughing from allergies, severe infection or cardiac illness
irritated cough from constriction or sensation of crumb in larynx
Any attempt to talk causes cough
< All night. pressure/touching throat, talking, morning on rising, lying on eft side
> open air, after expectoration
