(LOWER BED AT 45º ANGLE!) I’m now going to do a systematic auscultation of the aortic, pulmonic, erbs, tricuspid, and mitral areas.

  • I am now going to auscultate the aortic landmark at the 2nd intercostal space, right sternal border.
  • I’m now going to auscultate the pulmonic landmark at the 2nd intercostal space, LEFT sternal border.
  • I’m now going to auscultate erb’s point at the 3RD intercostal space, LEFT sternal border.
  • I’m now going to auscultate the tricuspid area at the 4TH intercostal space, LEFT sternal border.
  • I’m now going to auscultate the mitral valve at the 5th intercostal space, MIDCLAVICULAR line.

Then say: S1S2. Regular Rate and Rhythm.
