Rinne’s test vs weber’s test
Rinne: fork in air vs fork on bone next to ear. Normal: air is louder
Weber’s test: fork on midline, sounds like its on the midline
Conductive hearing loss vs. sensorineural hearing lost
Conductive: sound cant get through the ear, blockage or rupture. Rinne’s test: bone is louder than air. Weber: sound is louder in bad ear
Sensorineural hearing loss: issue with CN1 or other nerves.
Rinne’s test: false positive, seems fine
Weber test: good ear hears sound more
Risk factors for Oral Cancer
Biggest: previous history and immunocompromised
Common: smoking, alcohol, sun, HPV
High risk areas for oral cancer
Floor of the mouth, lateral borders of tongue, base of tongue
Lymphadenopathy
Enlargement of lymph nodes, could be natural could be inflammation could be cancer
Oral cavity drains into which lymph nodes?
Submandibular node
Submental node
Scalp drains into which lymph nodes?
Occipital node
Preauricular node
Soft tissue of face and neck drains into which lymph nodes?
