  • Registrants have to provide credible character references from people who have known them for at least three years, to give an idea of the character traits they have that make them suitable for the role.
  • Considers any criminal cautions or convictions given to the professionals and whether they affect their suitability to practice.

What is Health as an HCPC Guideline for Clinical Practitioners?

  • People on the register must provide information every two years when they read the register about their general health.
    • They’re required to provide information on any health issues that they have only if they are likely to affect their ability to practice safely.
  • If a professional feels at any time that the health is impairing their ability to practice then they must limit or stop their work and declare this to the HCPC.
