- Time-Weighted Average (TWA)
- Short-Term Exposure Limit (STEL)
- Peak Limitation Value (PLV)
2

A
An averaged concentration worker’s may be repeatedly exposed to without adverse effect, based on 8-hour working day, 5-day working week.
3
Q
What is Short Term Exposure Limit?
A
A concentration which workers can be exposed to for up to 15 minutes at a time without suffering irritation, irreversible tissue damage or narcosis.
4
Q
What is Peak Limitation Value?
A
A concentration that, if exceeded, indicates the atmosphere is considered occupationally unacceptable.
5
Q
What can alter atmosphere to make it hazardous?
A
- Flammable gas/vapour
- High oxygen
- Low oxygen
- Toxic or corrosive
- Radioactivity
- Particulates

Q
What is DANGER?
A
- Do not enter smoke, gas or vapour clouds
- Approach carefully from upwind and uphill
- No closer than 70m from the affected area
- Gather information by observation from a safe distance
