The waste is the responsibility of the discarder and has no time limit. If waste is passed on to waste disposal companies it is still the discarders responsibility to ensure the appropriate treatment of it therefore, it must be with a trustworthy source

What are 4 points to transporting waste
Transport by and to authorised organisations
Deliver to an authorised site
Must produce a valid waste transfer note (must be kept for 2 years)
Must apply the waste hierarchy
What must a waste transfer note include
A description Any process the waste has been through How it is contained or packed Quantity The place, date, time of transfer The name and address of both parties Details of the permit The appropriate european waste catalogue code
What are hazardous waste requirements
Registration - If waste is produced the premises must be registered to the EA before removal
Storage - Store in waste suitable containers
Segregation - Must not be mixed with other wastes
Written details - Written instructions of how to dispose of hazardous waste for employees
Inspection - Examine containers regularly
Handling and transport - Handling must only be done by those who are authorised to do so
Recovery or disposal - Must be disposed at an appropriately authorised facility
Documentation - Waste records must be kept for 3 years
