- Complete the operator specific training
How often is training required?
Every 12 calendar months
What are the operational restrictions?
- Special VFR departures are prohibited
- Air Tours below 1500 AGL at night are prohibited
- Flight below 1500 AGL: 3 mile visibility over land and 1 mile visibility over offshore transition routes
- All altitudes below 1500 AGL shall be conducted at an altitude +500 feet above the altitudes listed for helicopters.
What are the altitude restrictions in the yellow highlighted areas?
Airplane operations at or above 1000 AGL.
What are the altitude restrictions in the clear areas?
Airplane operations at or above 1500 AGL
What are the altitude restrictions in the pink highlighted areas?
Airplane operations at or above 1500 AGL
What are the restrictions in the black outlined areas?
- Site specific training must be completed prior to conducting operation in this area
What are the dashed lines?
- National Parks
- Area that requires commercial air tour operator to be in position of operating authority.
- defined by 1/2 mile outside the park boundary and the surface to 5000 AGL.
What are the in-flight deviation authority requirements?
- PIC is the final authority
- PIC may deviate as necessary
- Must notify the POI within 10 days of deviation
What are the radio communication requirements?
- only necessary radios calls or emergency distress calls.
- No “chit chat”
What are the requirements with using lights?
- it is encouraged to keep lights on when operating below 1500 AGL
