What is base link?
An important reference point. Located at the pivot point or centre of the robot, which differs depending on the kinematic (diff drive, bicycle, tricycle).
What is a Differential Drive robot?
One with independent drive wheels.
Where is base link for a diff drive robot?
Mid-point between the fixed drive wheels along their axis of rotation.
What is a bicycle robot?
Fixed drive wheel(s) + steerable idler wheel(s)
What is a tricycle robot?
Steerable drive wheel(s) + fixed idler wheel(s)
