The brain of a computer
RAM
(random access memory) Extra thinking space for the comp to go faster (is unreliable, since the data could be lost if the power goes out or something)
ROM
(read only memory) long term storage of the computer, where files are saved/installed
Hard drive
stores the comp data
What does 1 and 0 mean?
1=charge and 0=no charge
Solid state storage
a storage device that allows reading, writing, and storing data permanently without a constant power source
GPU
GPU (graphics processing unit) is the graphics part of the computer, and it’s the part of the PC responsible for the on-screen images you see.
Graphics card
Video card that handles the displays on the screen
Motherboard
the skeleton and the nervous system of the comp. Basically the whole comp depends on it
