Resistant to 2 or more of the first line medications, but not isoniazid or rifampin.

Multi drug resistant (MDR) TB

Strain is resistant to rifampin and isoniazid (at a minimum).

Extensively drug resistant (XDR) TB

Answer 4

Resistant to rifampin, isoniazid and the fluoroquinolones, and at least 1 other second line drug.

TDR TB

Total drug resistant TB. Shows resistance to all first and second line drugs.
