An advisory enables the crew to:
Monitor any drifting parameters.
The sensors used to trigger an advisory may be:
Different from those used by the FWS to trigger an ECAM alert.
When noticing an advisory the standard call is:
“Advisory on XYZ System”
PF requests PM to monitor drifting parameter.
PM may check the QRH *ECAM ADVISORY CONDITIONS to:
- Check advisory triggering conditions
- Find associated recommended actions.
Spurious caution:
- Delete with EMER CANC pb (gets rid of both aural alert and caution for remainder of flight).
- STS page “CANCELLED CAUTION” title.
- For a warning, it will only inhibit aural warning but does not affect warning itself.
Use of QRH summaries help the flight crew perform actions in the event of:
ELEC EMER CONFIG or a dual hydraulic failure.
Cruise section of the QRH summary.
ECAM actions and STATUS:
-Come first.
-The “CRUISE” section of the summaries highlights the remaining systems, main limitations and flight capability of the aircraft.
It also helps the flight crew to assess the situation and select an appropriate runway for landing.
QRH Summary, Approach Preparation.
When status has been detected:
- Use APPROACH, LANDING and GO AROUND sections to support approach preparation.
- When appropriate, these sections include landing with slats or flaps jammed and L/G gravity extension procedure that must be applied during approach, landing and go around phases.
QRH Summaries.
Approach Briefing:
-Flight crew should use the APPROACH, LANDING and GO AROUND sections of the QRH summary to perform approach briefing, while they cross check the associated FMS and STS page.
QRH Summaries.
Approach:
- When Aircraft is in the final configuration review LANDING and GO AROUND sections.
- Brakes
- NWS
- Reversers
- L/G retraction in case of a go around.
Finally check STS page and check all APPR PROC actions completed.
