A long speech made by a character who is alone on stage and thus reveals his or her private thoughts to the audience

When the audience knows something that one of the characters don’t
Blank Verse
Un-rhymed iambic pantameter
Comic Relief
A light scene following a serious one
Hero
Has a basic human frailty that brings about his downfall and death, but before his death, he learns an important thing about that frailty
Villain
Seem at first to be pure evil, but are human too
