3.4. Well of zam zam abd al-safa and al-marwa
Remember the time Ibrahim’s wife and son ran out of water and food in the desert. His son desperately ran between the hills of Safa and marwa to find water seven times and Allah rewarded her perseverance and when they dug their head in the ground to discover water in the well of zam zam. Muslims drink from the well and go between the two hills.
5.Mount Arafat
Muslims travel to here to spend several hours praying and asking God to forgive their sins. It is thought to be the place Muhammad gave his last sermon
- Muzdalifah
The pilgrims need to collect stones up before they perform jamarat. They spend the evening praying and reading the Quran.
- Mina (jamarat)
The devil tried to tempt Ibrahim to be disobedient three times when Allah asked him to sacrifice his son. Jibril told him to pelt him so he’d go away. The free pillars represent the three times the devil tried to tempt Ibrahim so Muslims throw stones at the pillars.
