A
since the sun warms the earth mostly at the equator, air to the north+south must be cooler and more dense

What are the doldrums?
A
heat rose to make way for denser air flowing in both sides

What are rain forests?
A
as warm, humid air at the equator rises, it cools
cool air can’t hold as much moisture, so it rains a lot

What are deserts?
A
as air leaves equator, it rains away more moisture, so it becomes more dense and cool, turning dry and sinks

A
atmospheric conveyor belt that brings tropical rain forests and deserts
