A

Turning point - Volta - big build up and excitement all for nothing bcs wrong bird. Terrifying - the younger one smaller one - tension as we anticipate a much larger bird then this one already is. Ironic as that the man said we don’t want u go home with wrong bird

Short sentences help create tension and they could perhaps reflect disappointment.

Oh - short paragraph and interjection mirrors disappointment

Smokier and darker

Syncretic listin - overwhelming experience for her, and and and, colour and sensory imagery - connotations of evil and mystery so it seems more threatening. And - slows down pace forcing reader to focus on each adjective. Makes second bird more overwhelming

Much much bigger - emphasizes that this bird is so much larger then the first hawk. Juxtaposition- twitter and wails, pleasant vs unpleasant, nothing appealing about this bird.

Victorian - similes - dramatic language of violence, something untamed and wild

Matsphors - bird is mythical but also Menacing, reflecting untamed nature. List of contrasting images build tension - reader uncertain if hawk is majestic or dangerous. ‘She is perfect’

Conveys awe while creating dramatic pause, heightening the emotional impact

Conjuring trick - bird is an illusion too astonishing to be real. Barred and beating - alliteration flowing effect mirroring bird movement.
