He had a good relationship with Mughal Emperor Akhbar who respected the Guru Granth Sahib and enabled Sikhs to live in peace and harmony.
What is the Masand system?
A group of representatives who taught and spread the teachings of the Gurus and who collected Dasvand.
What is Dasvand?
One-tenth of a Sikhs income (in money, goods or service) that Sikhs paid to support the building of the Gurdwara Sahib. Collected by Masand system.

How did Guru Arjan die?
He was martyred at the demands of Mughal emperor Jahangir.
He was tortured for 5 days with boiling water and hot sheets of metal because he didn’t remove certain hymns of Muslim saints.
He then asked to bathe in the River Ravi and was carried away by the river as a martyr of Sikh faith whilst thousands of followers watched.
What was Arjan’s relationship with the new Mughal emperor Jahangir?
Bad because he was intolerant of Sikhs and demanded that he was martyred.
What was his relationship like with his brother Prithi Chand?
Prithi Chand was jealous of Arjan and continuously thwarted his efforts.
When was his son Hargobind born and what was he trained?
1595 and he was trained skills of guruship.
