A

Initially: Weakness/tingling in lower extremities

Ascend descend pattern

Severity of symptoms increases over hours or weeks

Potentially life-threatening if respiratory muscles are involved

Uncoordinated movements
Numbness and decreased sensation
Loss of bowel/bladder control
Blurred vision
Difficulty, breathing, swallowing, chewing
