Urinary pain:
- bacteriacidal + NSAID (sodium salicylate)
- not more than 2 days
- do not take if allergic to or taking NSAIDS

EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTIVES
- 1 dose, not abortive
- within 3-5 days (the closer to sex the better)
- may cause n/v bc high dose hormone (progesterone)
- most common
- best for smaller BMI
- ok for pt’s on birth control
Ella (rx only)
Generic: ulipristal
EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTIVES
- ovulation inhibitor
- 1dose
- effective up to 5 days post sex; as effective day 1 as day 5
- better results than plan b
- better for higher bmi
- not for pt’s on birth control
Gyne-lotramin
Generic: clotrimazole
Yeast infections:
- 3 or 7 days
- Don’t use if pregnant or if 1st yeast infection
- no sex while using
Vagistat, monostat1 (ointment)
Generic: tioconazole
- Don’t use if pregnant or if 1st yeast infection
* no sex while using
Monistat 1, 3
Generic: miconazole
- Don’t use if pregnant or if 1st yeast infection

Benzalkonium chloride
Preservative in eye drops that is most likely allergen; try individual doses without preservatives

Allergy eye drops:
- zaditor/ketotofen: wait 10 minutes after removing contacts
- not for pt’s with glaucoma
- antihistamine
- pataday=recent rx to otc; patanol =rx
Debrox, murine ear
Generic: carbamide peroxide
Ear wax removal:
Softens and loosens wax then flush
Abreva
Generic: docosanol
Cold sore tx:
- HSV induced sores on outer lips
- apply 5x day
