What is pyleoniphritis and how is it caused?
A
Inflammation of the kidneys d/t untreated UTI, trauma, other source of infection, toxins. VERY PAINFUL. flank pain

- incontinence
- nocturia, dysuria, hematuria, urgency

A
- moisture d/t incontinence
- improper pericare/ hygeine (front to back)
- sex
- restrictive clothing
- dehydration / lack of fluids
- surgery
- elderly

Interventions for UTI?
A
antibiotics good pericare fluids control of fever if applicable pain control encourage voiding
