What does the term growth describe ?
The term growth describes an increase in height and weight. Growth continues until EARLY ADULTHOOD.
What does the term physiological change describe?
It describes the physical changes that take place throughout the life stages.
What are the key changes in Infancy/early childhood ?
Children grow rapidly and develop many physical skills.
What are the key changes in Adolescence ?
Body continues to develop. There may be GROWTH SPURTS. Body will change as they reach SEXUAL MATURITY.
What are the key changes in a Young adult ?
The body has reached PHYSICAL MATURITY.
What are the key changes in Older adult ?
The AGEING PROCESS begins in middle adulthood.
What is GROWTH SPURTS?
Periods of FAST GROWTH.
What is SEXUAL MATURITY?
When an individual’s reproductive organs are fully matured.
What is PHYSICAL MATURITY ?
When an individual reached their full height and the peak of physical fitness.
What is AGEING PROCESS ?
By about 65, individuals will have lost some strength and muscle tone.
