What are the five main food groups?
A
- Dairy, Fats, Sugars and Carbohydrates

Why is a balanced diet important?
A
- As it means the body is getting the nourishment it needs to be physically healthy

Where are ‘Proteins’ obtained from?
A
- Animal protein from fish, chicken, red meat
- Vegetable protein from beans, grains and foods produced from animal products such as eggs, milk and cheese

Why are high protein diet’s used?
A
- By bodybuilders or weightlifters, to build muscle and lose fat

What is ‘Vitamin A’?
A
- A fat soluble vitamin found in milk and dairy products and it can be stored in the body
- It helps to main healthy eyes, skin and bones

What is ‘Vitamin C’?
A
- Water soluble vitamin so it cannot be stored in the body
- A lack of vitamin C can cause scurvy

Then what is ‘Vitamin D’?
A
- Another fat soluble vitamin so it can be stored in the body and produced naturally, from sunlight.
